Former Alaska resident Jack Alan Hepworth, 70, died Feb. 22, 2008, at Martha and Mary care facility in Poulsbo, Wash.
A celebration of his life will be 2-5 p.m. March 29 at the Hansville Community Center, Buck Lake Road, Hansville, Wash.
Jack was born Dec. 1, 1937, in Bremerton, Wash., to Anna and Pete Hepworth. He graduated from Central Kitsap High School in 1956. He married and then moved to Alaska, where he worked for the Alaska Railroad for 27 years. He retired as superintendent of transportation in 1985.
Jack loved his family and friends and spending summers at his cabin on McDonald Spit on Kachemak Bay.
Jack leaves his loving family, including his wife, Marilyn Hepworth; mother, Anna Hepworth; brothers, Ray and Bill Hepworth; son, Mark Hepworth (Debbie); daughter, Arlene Rhoades; stepson, Greg McLeod (Brenda); stepdaughter, Maria McLeod; grandchildren, Krista Hepworth, Katherine and Justin Rhoades, and Sarah and Shane McLeod; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
His family expresses sincere thanks to the staff at Martha and Mary for Jack's loving care the past two years.
"He will be greatly missed by all," his family said.
