Elinor Louise Adams passed away March 13th at the age of 88. Born the daughter of a miner, she moved from Snohomish to Coulee City as a teenager and called the community home for more than 70 years. Elinor, known as “Babe” to her friends and family, married Clarence in 1938 and together - they ran the Pilot Rock Ranch where they raised cattle and grew wheat. Along the way, she also had 7 children – 2 sons and 5 daughters. After her husband’s death in 1976 Elinor traveled extensively, and the pins she would keep on a map highlighted her journeys – from Alaska, China, Switzerland, Costa Rica, Africa and even Panama. A 4H leader for 15 years, she was also a lifetime Grange member. Elinor is survived by her children – Marlene Poulson, Judy Bach, Diane Griffith-Adams, Peggy Pierpoint, Gary Adams and Connie Adams – not to mention 19 grandchildren, at least 34 great-grandchildren and a couple of great-great-grandchildren. Elinor lived her life in grace and will be greatly missed by all that were fortunate enough to know her. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 Thursday afternoon at the Coulee City Presbyterian Church.
