An Alaska Senate vote on Governor Sarah Palin's gasline bill could be made as early as Friday. A floor session was scheduled for 11:00 a.m. for the Senate on that day.
Unless the Senate allows the bill to die of the floor, a vote by the 20-member legislative body will be made by 11:59 p.m. on Saturday.
The vote will decide whether TransCanada Corporation should be awarded an exclusive license to pursue a project backed by the governor.
Last week the measure was approved by the House, however it was held up in the Senate by the energy committee, which passed the bill late Wednesday evening.
If passed the license will allow TransCanada to move forward on federal permitting applications for the 1,715-mile pipeline estimated to cost between $26 billion and $30 billion.
