Vic Kohring, a former Alaska Representative, received a sentence of 42 months of jail time on Thursday. A jury found the Wasilla Republican guilty of conspiring with executives of an oil field service company.
Kohring worked with the executives at the VECO Corporation to push through an oil tax favored by North Slope producers. In November of 2007 Kohring was convicted of federal bribery and two extortion charges. |
