David Weartherholt has announced that he has stepped down as owner of the Wild. Weartherholt officially moved out of the Alaska Wild headquarters on Monday night.

The split began on Friday when the team, backed by their popular head coach Hans Deemer, threatened to strike. As a result of the strike rumors, and his support of staff and players, Deemer was fired.

Over the past two years issues have been mounting for Weatherholt, and for the first time the team feels a sense of relief, as they anticipate the announcement of a new owner on Wednesday.

Assistant Head Coach Abe Hernandez said, "It's the ownership... what is going to be the ownership... and also the coaching and what we be looking how we are going to be head here in the future with the coaching aspect of it."

The next step for the new ownership will be to find a head coach. The for-mentioned Hans Deemer already has a relationship with the players, and with a record of *4 and 2* and a third place standing in the IFL it may be unwise to look anywhere else.
