Accidental Car Rollover Leaves One Teen Dead

Tools

An accidental car rollover in Girdwood has left an Anchorage teenager dead from injuries sustained during the incident. 17-year-old Jeffery Morgan died on Friday, several days after the accident near mile 95 of the Seward Highway, said Alaska State Troopers.

On Tuesday night a Subaru wagon heading southbound lost control and veered off the highway, crossing both north and southbound lanes. The car which was being driven by a 15-year-old girl rolled over after crossing both lanes.

Morgan received treatment at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage. At another local hospital the driver and other passengers were taken to another local hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries and eventually released.

Troopers cited the lack of seat-belt use was a factor in Morgan's death.
