Police fired four shots into a van after they say the driver accelerated toward them at the end of a pursuit.
Police arrested Victor Powell of Juneau on multiple charges,
including driving while intoxicated. Juneau Police Department
spokeswoman Cindee Brown-Mills says more charges are pending.
Police received a report Thursday night about men drinking in a
van in the Mendenhall Valley. They attempted a traffic stop, but
the van continued on. Police were able to surround the van behind
the Mendenhall Mall.
Police say a male and a female passenger exited the van prior to
Powell allegedly accelerating the van toward a police officer.
Brown-Mills say no one was struck when police fired shots.
Police found Powell unconscious in the van.
Police say a woman who was run over by the van was seriously
injured.
