A 25-year-old Girdwood woman died
while on a hiking trip on a Kenai Peninsula trail.

Troopers took a call at 9:14 a.m. Thursday reporting that
25-year-old Sarah Thorn had died while hiking on the Devil's Creek
Trail.

Chugach National Forest spokeswoman Mona Spargo says Thorn
reported suffering from a migraine headache before she died. She
was about 2 miles from the Devil's Pass cabin when she was
stricken.

Thorn's companion called authorities from the trailhead at Mile
39 Seward Highway.

Troopers sent a helicopter to investigate and recover the body.
