Soldiers returning to Fort Wainwright

Nearly 90 Fort Wainwright soldiers are returning from a year-long deployment in Iraq.

The News Miner reports the soldiers due Wednesday have been providing aerial reconnaissance and support. They are from Task Force 49's 6th Squadron, 17th Cavalry.

More than 4,000 Fort Wainwright soldiers are deployed in Iraq with the 1st Stryker brigade.
