Some members of the Anchorage Assembly say it should have a bigger say before the mayor cuts spending. A proposal introduced at yesterday meeting would require assembly approval for budget cuts of more than $100,000. The Anchorage Daily News also reports the assembly wants a public hearing on budged cuts already made by Mayor Dan Sullivan.
