Man Who Caused Flight to be Diverted, Tied to Alaska

The man that forced a Delta Airlines flight to be diverted yesterday, has ties to Alaska.

The airline says Paul Marchuk III, became unruly Tuesday afternoon on a flight from Seattle to Atlanta.

The 22 year old was subdued by passengers and the flight was diverted to Nashville, Tennessee where he was arrested.

Marchuk's stepmother told ABC Alaska News that Paul was born in Delta Junction, but soon moved to the lower 48 to be with his biological mother. He was back in Alaska last week for a visit, but just days into the trip, he started acting strange and became violent.

On Sunday, his family says he was found naked in a Delta Junction church, and they made arrangements for him to fly back home.

Marchuk was taking medication for tourette's syndrome.
