Guatemala police and U.S. authorities say a man sought in a 2007 beating death in Anchorage has been caught and returned to the United States.

Police Assistant Director of Investigations Ottoniel Barraza says Ariel Beau Patrick was captured in an low-income neighborhood in Guatemala City.

Patrick is a U.S. citizen who was in Guatemala illegally. The U.S. Marshals Service said Patrick was returned to the U.S. on Wednesday.

The case was featured on "America's Most Wanted."

The Anchorage Daily News reports the 25-year-old Patrick has been charged with murder in the death of 20-year-old Jamaal Barras. Police allege Patrick and David Anderson fatally beat Barras in a downtown alley.

Anderson was convicted Oct. 2 of second-degree murder and is
awaiting sentencing.
