A suspect in a stabbing at an Anchorage high school has been taken into custody.
The suspect was apprehended about a half mile from Service High School just before 1 p.m. Monday. Police used a helicopter and a search dog to find the suspect.
Anchorage School District spokeswoman Heidi Embley says the
injured girl was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
The school was locked down after the incident. Both interior and
exterior doors were locked and students were kept away from
windows.
