4 Dead After Attack in Sitka
Sitka police say four people have died after being stabbed. The Sitka Daily Sentinel reports one person was arrested at the home where the victims were found Tuesday. Police say three people were found dead inside the home. A fourth victim later died at a local hospital. No information about the victims has been released.
Police Chief Sheldon Schmitt said they received a 911 call from a cell phone at 11:44 a.m. The caller said he was outside the home and told the dispatcher that there was a "guy outside stabbing people." The dispatcher said she could hear people screaming in the background. Police Lt. Barry Allen says responding officers arrested 18-year-old Jason Abbott outside the house with a five-inch knife. The arresting charge wasn't immediately clear, and police didn't return phones after the incident. Police used a Taser to subdue Abbott. He suffered a cut over his eye when he fell on the knife, and was hospitalized. |
