Governor Sarah Palin was back at her desk for a few hours on Monday, only three days after giving birth to her fifth child. Palin has confirmed that her son, Trig, was born with Down syndrome.

While Palin was only at work for part of the day, she was able to make time to meet with her gas pipeline team in Anchorage. The team is currently at work preparing for a special legislative session.

For a brief interim Palin will only be working on a limited basis, said a Palin spokeswoman. The spokeswoman also stated that Palin hopes to make some public appearances in the near future.

Trig Paxson Van Palin was born Friday morning and weighed in at six pounds, 2 ounces.
