Authorities said they arrested a North Pole man on drug charges for carrying an ounce of methamphetamine. The drugs were found inside a vehicle outside the man's home.

44-year-old Francis Peron is the man authorities identified and charged with felony drugs misconduct on Friday.

Officers were quoted in a criminal complaint filed in court, saying that glass pipes with white residue, syringes, several empty baggies and $4,000 in Peron's wallet were found in the suspect's home.

Peron's bail is set at $20,000 and he is being held at Fairbanks Correctional Center.
