It's one of the most anticipated shows at the Alaska State Fair -- The Fred Scheer's Lumberjack Show.
Celebrating carharts and chainsaws, it's a crowd favorite for fair-goers.
Chopping wood, log rolling, ax throwing are all just a day in the life of a lumberjack.
Fred Scheer's Lumberjack Show features some of the best lumberjacks who compete against each other in true lumberjack style.
Cassidy Scheer is a lumberjack. "All the different lumberjack disciplines -- chopping, sawing, speed climbing, and we throw in some humorous jokes for the kids."
It really is a show for everyone, but the lumberjacks say it draws a lot of "lumber-jills."
Bobby Bers is a lumberjack. "There's a lot of women who come to the show. They like to cheer on the lumberjacks. That gets kinda fun because we have some comedy acts that are kinda catered towards women."
These lumberjacks are the real deal. The jacks of all trade say there's one discipline that takes years to perfect.
"The log rolling is actually the hardest event to become proficient in," says Cassidy Scheer. "Most of your world champion log rollers start when they're children."
One of the more famous events at the show is the ax throw...Where the lumberjacks effortless hit the bullseye.
The lumberjacks keep their show light and fun with lots of crowd participation.
Cassidy Scheer says, "the shows about 45 minutes long. A good third of that is interacting with the crowd. We get some spirited audience members up here in Alaska."
As the lumberjacks say -- Yo-Ho.
You can see the show 3 times a day at the state fair, and you only have 4 days left to see these guys in action.
