Fair Schedule for Thursday, August 27, 2009

Today, the annual Alaska State Fair opens its doors. On Wednesday, dozens of vendors and fair staff spent the day prepping for the annual event which usually sees around 290,000 visitors pass through its gates. The big name concerts like the Beach Boys, Seether, and David Archuleta have already sold out, but this year's fair is offering a lot more bang for your buck. With the weak economy, marketing coordinator Dean Phillips says he has made many changes this year so that families can enjoy the festivities. “We have many many more things free with fair admission this year and that my design we want to offer opportunity for people to come and purchase a ticket and a lot to do at the fair with our spending a lot of money” says Phillips.
