ASD Enrollment Higher than Expected

Alaska's largest school district just got a little bit bigger.

Officials with the Anchorage School District say this year's enrollment is 49,243 students.

That's a 1.4 percent increase over projections, or 695 more students than planned for in the budget.

The district in September hired 30 additional teachers and 23 support staff.
