Alaska Natives from across the state have been arriving in Anchorage for the Alaska Federation of Natives convention.
The convention starts Thursday, but the warm-up began Monday with the Elders and Youth Conference.
Over the next two days, young people will take in a wide range of subjects - from native languages and history to issues like sexual assault and alcohol abuse.
This year's theme is "Generations of wisdom, generations of strength."
