STERLING – Alaska State Troopers are investigating a car accident that happened on Saturday morning along the Sterling highway, that took the life of Amber Zuck and caused the highway to shut down for almost 12 hours.

22-year old Amber Zuck was killed when she drove across the center line, into the path of a semi-truck. Troopers say Zuck was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from her vehicle.

Zuck was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers found an open container of alcohol in Zuck's vehicle and are now investigating to learn if alcohol was involved.
