Natural Gas Pipeline Team to Seek Shipping Deals

Tools

One of two firms considering a major natural gas pipeline, Denali, expects to solicit long-term shipping deals this summer with North Slope energy companies.

Denali said Tuesday it intends to file open season plans in April with federal regulators.

Denali is a joint venture between BP and ConocoPhillips.

The other major natural gas line proposal is a partnership between TransCanada and Exxon Mobil. The state sanctioned TransCanada under the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act, passed during the term of Gov. Sarah Palin. Exxon Mobil is the largest single holder of North Slope natural gas leases.
