Dead Body along Seward Highway Caused Traffic Back-Up

Chad news

ANCHORAGE – The Anchorage Police Department (APD) spent more than five hours investigating the “suspicious” death of a man found along side the Seward Highway early this morning, on Tuesday.

Traffic was backed up early on the Seward Highway just about 2-miles south of Potter Marsh. Police say a motorist reported a lifeless body laying partially underneath a guard rail, on the water side of the highway.

Police have a tentative ID of the man, but won't release his name until his family is notified and the autopsy is complete.

Homicide detectives are investigating – Police say that they want to know if someone caused his death or if it came at his own hand.

According APD Spokesperson, Anita Shell, "At this point in time we're handling it carefully, can't say whether or not it's a homicide but it's unusual for a man in this 30's, we believe he was in his 30's, to pass away and it was an un-intended death so no one can tell us what happened."
