Read more » Juneau Searching For Snow Storage SiteJuneau needs a new place to store its plowed snow. The city has been storing it in a tour bus parking lot at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center, but a U.S. Forest Service plan to pave the lot threw city officials into a panic this fall. City Manager Rod Swope ended up getting permission to use the lot this winter, but the city faces a lack of storage space next year. Read more » Chambers Supports Road Extension to MineThe state Chamber of Commerce is supporting a 13-mile extension of the road to the Kensington Mine. Juneau Chamber CEO Cathie Roemmich says the state already has funding in place to construct that portion of the Glacier Highway.
